Jeff is a co-owner of Bechtel Physical Therapy Inc. and has been working here for 30 years. Jeffrey graduated from CSULB in 1989 with his BSPT and went on to receive his MOMT in 1993. Jeffrey specializes in orthopedics, but has a vast array of experience in many aspects of P.T. with completion of a multitude of certifications over the years.  Jeffrey’s pleasure and passion has always been to help people/patients in need, to regain function and happiness, and to promote a healthy lifestyle. Jeffrey is married to a loving and incredible wife of 18 years, has two amazing children, and one crazy but very loyal dog. Other interests include anything sports related, movies, and exercise.

Justin Knapp-Wood

Justin has been practicing physical therapy since 2011 with over a decade of that time at Bechtel Physical Therapy. He is a Northern California native and a graduate of the University of Miami's Doctor of Physical Therapy program. His practice is heavily influenced by his studies with the Institute of Physical Art and the Functional Patterns Training System. His patients can expect a blend of manual therapy and functional strengthening activities to help them achieve their goals. When not treating patients, his time is spent with his family, friends, in the garden and in the mountains (fishing and snowboarding).

Bryn Aitken-Young

Dr. Bryn Aitken-Young is a holistic, integrative physical therapist who treats the body as one interconnected movement system. She specializes in identifying the root causes of pain by addressing old injuries, scar tissue, fascia and dysfunctional movement patterns that may be limiting overall function, movement, and performance.

Her clinical interests include orthopedics, sports medicine, post-operative rehabilitation, post-concussion return-to-sport, postpartum care, pelvic floor dysfunction, TMJ dysfunction, hyper-mobility syndromes and chronic pain.

Dr. Aitken-Young earned her Bachelor's degree in Exercise Biology from UC Davis and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, graduating with high honors. She has also completed advanced training in NeuroKinetic Therapy® (NKT), a neuroscience-based approach to treating pain, post operative compensations and faulty movement. If you have tried everything and you are still in pain, this technique is for you.

In 2023, Dr. Aitken-Young became co-owner of Bechtel Physical Therapy alongside three partners, including her husband, Daniel. She is passionate about helping people move with confidence, recover from injury, and achieve lasting health and wellness.

Daniel Echeverry

Daniel Echeverry is a compassionate Doctor of Physical Therapy and Board-Certified Athletic Trainer with extensive experience in orthopedics and sports medicine. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Health & Human Sciences from Loyola Marymount University before completing his Doctorate in Physical Therapy with Honors from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos.

Daniel specializes in treating a wide range of spinal conditions that cause back pain, and has a particular interest in helping patients rehabilitate after arthroscopic and reconstructive surgeries of the hip, knee, and shoulder joints. He takes a holistic approach to care, blending hands-on manual therapy with the implementation of movement science to relieve pain, restore function, and help each patient return to the activities they love.

Born in Colombia and raised in the San Fernando Valley, Daniel is a graduate of Notre Dame High School. Outside the clinic, he cherishes time with his family, enjoys playing soccer, and loves going on adventures with his wife. For Daniel, physical therapy is more than a profession — it's an opportunity to give back to the community that raised him and help humanity heal.

Susan Keller

PT, DPT, NKT Level I

Susan is a Bay Area born and raised transplant to Los Angeles via a near decade long sojourn in Freiburg, Germany. With a background in dance, yoga, and theater, Susan is also a certified licensed Physiotherapist in Germany before returning to California. She is a graduate of the UCLA School of Theatre and Film and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Chapman University in Irvine, CA. Susan is currently NeuroKinetic Therapy Level 1 Certified and is completing coursework and labs toward Orthopedic Certified Specialist in addition to high levels of NKT certification. Susan has also completed multiple certifications in pelvic floor therapy with Herman & Wallace, including external and internal examination, exercise, diet, lifestyle modifications, and acupressure treatments for pelvic wellness. Her favorite things about working as a physical therapist are: 1. Having movement as her job, 2. Always learning more about movement, and 3. Getting to know all of her patients!

Melissa Nepomuceno

Melissa is a Bay Area native who received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at St. John’s University in NYC and Doctorate of Physical Therapy in Miami at University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. She graduated with High Honors and received the Stanley V. Paris and Catherine E. Patla Award for Excellence in Manual Therapy at her commencement in addition to being inducted into the Delta Phi Tau National Honor Society. Melissa enjoys treating a vast variety of patients from sports-related injuries, chronic pain, to spinal cord injury. She is a Titleist Performance Institute Specialist and is Blood Flow Restriction Certified. Melissa enjoys basketball, volleyball, golf, and paddle boarding during her free time.

Delia Godinez

Delia was born and raised in the SFV. She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Azusa Pacific University in 2009. Her specialty is in orthopedic/sport-related injuries. She is currently Level 1 NKT- certified. Delia can fluently treat in Spanish. Hobbies include spending time with family, pickleball, racquetball, tennis, basketball, playing with her dogs, gaming, cooking, traveling and movies.

Donna Okabayashi

Physical Therapist Assistant

With over 10 years of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, Donna is a passionate clinician who helps patients reduce pain, restore mobility and get back to the activities they enjoy doing the most. After completing her Undergraduate Studies at Portland State University, Donna earned her Associate Degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant from Concorde Career College in North Hollywood. Donna has extensive experience in outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation and home health. Additionally, she has a special passion for treating TMJ disorders, utilizing her training in The Graston Technique to address myofascial restrictions and in the application of Kinesio-taping to enhance movement. Donna believes in providing individualized care and enjoys helping patients restore function, build confidence and achieve their personal goals.

Dr. Lindsay Blaauw

Lindsay Blaauw is a board certified orthopedic physical therapy specialist and scoliosis specialist certified in the Schroth Method (the most recognized form of Physical Therapy Scoliosis-Specific Exercises, PSSE). She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from USC in 2006 and became an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) in 2008. She completed both an orthopedic residency and a movement science fellowship through Kaiser Permanente in 2007 and 2010, respectively. In 2013, she received her ISST-Schroth certification in Germany. Since then, she has also received C1 and C2 certifications from BSPTS. Lindsay has over 18 years of clinical experience. She has a passion for treating the spine and implements a holistic and collaborative approach that is patient-centered and focused on the mind-body connection. Lindsay is a proud mother of 4 children. She enjoys running and exercise, which helps her keep up with her little ones and balance her love of baking and eating delicious food!

Eduardo is a Massage therapist. Over 20 years of experience and have gained a lot of specialized knowledge when it comes to athletic injuries. For the past 15 years Eduardo has worked closely with chiropractor & physical therapists to provide medical/therapeutic treatments incorporating sports massage, cupping and deep tissue techniques. He is IASTM certified, and often include in my sessions. He is MLD certified which helps with the Lymphatic Drainage for those post-op or dealing with Lymphedema.

Melissa McNamara

Melissa McNamara has been in the pilates industry for over 22 years and is an award winning instructor, international presenter, author and master educator. Melissa has a Masters Degree in Contemporary Performance from the Buddhist University, Naropa. She is a lead Instructor Trainer for STOTT PILATES and teaches their level 1 to advanced training, including Barre, CORE, Zenga (fascia focused fitness), Injuries and Special Populations and pre and post-natal workshops. She has certified hundreds of instructors globally in STOTT PILATES as well as her own pilates for kids program, m.a.c. Pilates® for Kids and Teens. She is also an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, ACE Youth Specialist, 500 hr Yoga Teacher, and certified in Neurokinetic Therapy Level 1.

With 12 years of experience at Bechtel Physical Therapy, I have had the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally while being part of a team dedicated to helping patients improve their quality of life. Throughout my years with the practice, I have developed a strong passion for patient care, team leadership, and creating a positive experience for both our patients and staff.
 
In 2023, I was honored to be promoted to General Manager. In this role, I oversee the day-to-day operations of the practice, support our team, and work to ensure we continue providing the highest level of service to our patients.
 
I am proud of the journey I have taken at Bechtel Physical Therapy and grateful for the relationships and experiences that have helped shape my career. I look forward to continuing to grow, lead, and contribute to the success of our team and the patients we serve.
